Infomercial case to FTC

Published on .

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus said it has referred infomercials for Cholestaway to the Federal Trade Commission. It said the marketer, Bogdana Corp., agreed to modify claims after an earlier NAD investigation, but the revisions did not adequately address all of NAD's concerns about truthfulness and accuracy.

The infomercial features efficacy claims and testimonials for Cholestaway, a cholesterol-lowering product, NAD said.
