Information Resources Inc. late Thursday downwardly revised earnings estimates, saying it expects to break even in the fourth quarter, compared to earlier estimates calling for earnings of 5 cents a share. IRI, the second-largest U.S. market research firm, with annual revenues of more than $535 million, blamed weak sales to its client base of mainly package-goods companies in the U.S. IRI shares fell 12 percent to $3.63 on Thursday in advance of the announcement.
