Infoseek launches Spotlight program

Infoseek Corp. launched Infoseek Spotlight, a feature that offers sponsored content sections to be included on Infoseek pages. Among the first sponsors are Dow Jones Business Directory, Music Boulevard, Travelocity, Sports Illustrated, Women's Wire and National Geographic. Spotlight partners are chosen by Infoseek based on quality content and are highlighted in a special window on the directory page where they can update headlines on their sites. Although the sites are chosen by the editorial staff, they are charged a $50 cost per thousand; contracts last for three months. Infoseek plans to sell sponsorships for every part of its directory.
