Initiative Media wins Ford, Kimberly-Clark in Turkey

ISTANBUL--Interpublic Group of Cos.' Initiative Media Istanbul has won two major accounts, Ford Motor Co.'s passenger cars and Kimberly-Clark. No budget figures were available.

"Ford works with WPP Group-owned MindShare (internationally) so we were very happy when they decided to work with us in Turkey," says Nukhet Vardar, the agency's general manager. Studio WCJ, Istanbul, handles Ford's passenger cars. Manajans/Thompson, Istanbul, an affiliate of J. Walter Thompson Co., handles Ford's commercial cars account.

The agency also won Kimberly-Clark's launch business in Turkey. Initiative Media already handles Kimberly-Clark's media business in four international markets. Moran Ogilvy & Mather, Istanbul is handling creative.

Initiative Media's international clients include Unilever, Tefal, Rowenta, Mobil Oil, Citibank, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Ferrero. The agency also handled TV planning for Lowe Lintas, Istanbul, and two local independent agencies, Ajans Ultra and Evecan & Evecan.
