CHICAGO-Advertising Age has selected seven finalists for its International Agency of the Year award for 1994.

Of 46 entries submitted from agencies in 20 countries, this year's finalists are Abbott Mead Vickers/ BBDO, London; Batey Ads, Singapore; DM9, SÌo Paulo; Delvico Bates, Madrid; George Patterson Bates, Sydney; Leagas Delaney, London; and Ronnberg McCann, Stockholm.

The Ad Age Agency Report, to appear April 10, will profile the contest's winner as well as the U.S. Agency of the Year.

"The judges were very excited with this year's selection," said Executive Editor/International Jan Jaben.

"Decisions like these are never easy to make, especially with the depth and emotional range we found," she said.

Entries for the competition are judged solely on the basis of creative merit, without regard to the agencies' success or client roster. The contest includes campaigns designed for newspapers, magazines, outdoor, TV and cinema.

The 1993 International Agency of the Year award went to Casadevall Pedreno & PRG, Barcelona, whose clients included Antena 3 Radio, newspaper El Pais, and Galerias department stores.
