Interactive awards gain respect

Interactive awards shows are gaining the respect of mainstream advertisers and agencies. On April 20, the Global Information Infrastructure Awards, sponsored by Compaq Computer Corp., will be presented in Chicago. On April 23, the One Club for Art & Copy will present its first One Show Interactive awards in New York, judged by a panel of interactive agency executives, such as Tim Smith, president of Red Sky Interactive, and Kyle Shannon, chief creative officer at Agency.com. Also, June 22-27, the Cannes International Advertising Festival will recognize exemplary interactive marketing and advertising with its first Cyber Lions Awards.
