Warner Bros. Online tests video banners

Warner Bros. Online July 25 launched a five-day Web advertising test that will measure response to banners with or without video on its "Batman & Robin" Web site ( Warner Bros. will rotate the same basic banner-one with video and one without-on the site to measure click-through response. Jim Moloshok, senior VP of Warner Bros. Online, says he will have quantitative results to release this week. "We hope to triple or quadruple our response, but it could just stay the same," he said.

DoubleClick unveils syndicate program

Today DoubleClick will start offering DoubleClick Syndicate, a software program that automates the accounting ad revenue sharing of a co-branded site within the DoubleClick network. Participating sites must use the network's DART ad serving software and decide how revenue from ads sold on the bridge site will be split.

CKS Site Specific expands staff

Interactive agency CKS SiteSpecific has named Michael Winter and Jon Kaiser media managers. Both previously were media managers at Grey Interactive's CKS SiteSpecific has also named as senior copywriter Chris Seid, previously senior copywriter at J. Walter Thompson USA, New York, and as senior art director Warren Corbitt, previously founding art director of Conde Nast's Swoon.

Organic Online opens media research unit

Craig Gugel, director of media resources and research at Bates USA, is joining the New York office of Organic Online. Mr. Gugel will be VP-chief research and media services officer, heading up a newly formed department repsonsible for media planning, buying and consumer research for all Organic offices.

The Weather Channel signed a multiyear deal with Alameda, Calif.-based Wink Communications to add an interactive channel to its current TV signal. . . . Search engine company Infoseek Corp. today opens a Chicago sales office. The office will be headed up by Nancy Pollack Burstein, formerly interactive sales rep with the Chicago Tribune, who will be Midwest account manager for Infoseek.
