Interactive index gets backers

Seventeen companies have subscribed to the CyberMedia Index, a research report aggregating data on various interactive media. Backers include General Motors Corp., America Online, Hachette Filipacchi New Media, Bates USA, BBDO Worldwide and several other U.S. and Canadian media and advertising entities. The index is a product of Next Century Media, a New Paltz, N.Y., consultancy, and Arbitron NewMedia.
