Ira Magaziner has been a Clinton adviser since 1993. Before taking on the Internet task force last year, he led the Clinton administration's healthcare reform initiative.

The group: Composed of 18 federal agencies.

The mission: Issue a report advising the government on issues including Internet intellectual property, privacy, encryption, electronic payment and technical standards.

The report: The group will issue "A Framework for Global Electronic Commerce" at the end of May.
