c/net: The Computer Network on Dec. 21 relaunches its Web site to add additional interactive content via Sun Microsystems' Java and Macromedia's Shockwave. c/net (http://www.cnet.com) will also start selling ad slots on its home page.

Videogame software developer Time Warner Interactive, Milpitas, Calif., appears to be entertaining offers from buyers, only 18 months after Time Warner consolidated and renamed the unit. Neither Time Warner nor rumored suitors Acclaim Entertainment and Electronic Arts would comment.

Prodigy Services Co. will appeal New York State Supreme Court Justice Stuart L. Ain's ruling that the online service is accountable for comments posted in its bulletin board areas. Earlier this year investment bank Stratton Oakmont filed a $200 million lawsuit against Prodigy for comments about it deemed libelous; it later withdrew the lawsuit after Prodigy apologized. "Prodigy will take an appeal within 30 days," said Martin Garbus, Prodigy's counsel and partner in Frankfurt, Garbus, Klein and Selz, New York.

Automotive Information Center has begun talking to car and truck marketers to advertise on AutoSite, a 25,000-page buyer's guide on the World Wide Web (http://www.autosite.com). AutoSite provides baseline information on models for free, with more detailed reports on specific vehicles at $6.95 each.
