The Internet Local Advertising and Commerce Association named Hal Logan as its executive director. Mr. Logan was formerly president-CEO of Vicinity Corp., a provider of directory and mapping information on the Web. ILAC, an industry group representing local online media and local advertisers, also formed three committees: Local Advertising Promotion, to define and articulate the benefits of advertising on local Web sites; Common Terminology and Usage Measurement, to study the terminology and measurement techniques in use today and endorse the ones the group finds most useful; and Multiple-Site Advertising, to help local advertisers find ways to place ads on multiple Web sites.
The committees, which are only open to ILAC members, will hold their first meetings on June 17 in Dallas. Information on ILAC is available at their site, or by calling the ILAC office at 609-921-0716.
