Internet researchers merge

Internet measurement companies Media Metrix, New York, and RelevantKnowledge, Atlanta, said they merged their operations. The combined company will keep the name Media Metrix and will focus on supplying agencies and advertisers with standard Internet audience measurements and additional services addressing e-commerce, local market ratings and analysis of fast-breaking events utilizing real-time data delivery. Tod Johnson, chairman-CEO of NPD Group, part-owner of Media Metrix, adds the additional title of chairman-CEO of Media Metrix. Media Metrix President-Chief Operating Officer Mary Ann Packo retains that post at the new combined company. RelevantKnowledge co-founders Jeff Levy and Tim Cobb will become vice chairmen of Media Metrix.
