AT&T New Media Services will merge with Industry.Net to form Nets Inc., an Internet company headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., and focused on the business-to-business marketplace. Jim Manzi, currently president-CEO of Industry.Net, will become chairman-president-CEO of Nets Inc. John Petrillo, exec VP-strategy and new service innovation at AT&T, will sit on the Nets Inc. board. Industry.Net will continue to operate from Pittsburgh. AT&T plans to license to Nets Inc. the AT&T brand name for the AT&T Business Network Service; additionally, Nets Inc. will be a featured link on AT&T's WorldNet service.
