Internet, specialty TV ad growth predicted in Canada

TORONTO--Canadian Internet advertising will jump 82% this year and ad spending on the country's specialty channels will increase 27%, predicts one of Canada's biggest banks. In a new report, No. 4 bank Scotiabank estimates that Internet advertising will grow to $24.5 million in 1999 from $13.5 million last year. Advertising growth in specialty cable, pay TV and pay-per-view services is predicted to be nearly four times the increase for broadcast television.
