Internet World heads to New York

Published on .

Mecklermedia's Internet World will be moving to New York City this year due to Boston's lack of convention space. Last year, Internet World attracted 30,000 visitors from around the world and brought an estimated $4.5 million to Boston. Mecklermedia earlier signed agreements with the city to use a couple of convention centers, but Alan Meckler, chairman of Mecklermedia, changed his mind and agreed to pay a $50,000 cancellation fee to the city of Boston. The convention will be held in the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan next December.
