INTERPUBLIC ACQUIRES DEVRIES PUBLIC RELATIONS

(Aug. 2, 2001) -- Interpublic Group of Cos. acquired DeVries Public Relations, a New York-based PR firm with clients including Procter & Gamble Co., GlaxoSmithKline, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. DeVries will become part of Interpublic's Advanced Marketing Services Group and will report directly to AMS Chairman-CEO Larry Weber, but will retain its name and founder Madeline DeVries will continue as CEO. -- Mercedes Cardona
