Interpublic buys MCA

Interpublic Group of Cos., New York, said it will acquire Marketing Corp. of America (MCA), Westport, Conn., parent of direct marketer MCA Marketing Agency and Chicago promotions agency Lee Hill Inc. MCA Marketing and Lee Hill will become part of Interpublic's DraftDirect Worldwide network, and MCA's consulting and research practices will join Interpublic's Allied Communications Group. They will continue to operate under current management. The deal, subject to regulatory approval, adds $300 million in billings to DraftDirect. Terms were not disclosed.
