LONDON--IPC Magazines has named Kevin Kerrigan as managing director of IPC Electric, the Internet division IPC set up in September with a $40 million investment.

Mr. Kerrigan succeeds Rene Carayol, who says he is leaving the company "to pursue some of the exciting opportunities that are now presenting themselves." Mr. Carayol had been IT director for five years at IPC before becoming managing director of IPC Electric.

Mr. Kerrigan joined IPC Electric in November as operations director. Previously, he was sales and marketing director at Pan European Publishing Co., part of Reed Elsevier Business Information in Belgium.

IPC, which publishes U.K. women's titles such as Woman's Weekly and MarieClaire, is currently launching a women's Web site called Beme.com.
