Interpublic Group of Cos., New York, agreed to buy marketing research group NFO Worldwide, Greenwich, Conn., in a stock deal valued at $26 per NFO share. NFO specializes in custom marketing research and Internet-based marketing research; it has 4,000 employees in 35 countries. The company has annual revenue of more than $425 million. The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of the first quarter.
