IRI adds Walgreen chain

Information Resources Inc., Chicago, said Walgreen Co., the nation's largestdrug store chain, will supply IRI with daily, store-specific scanner datathrough the market researcher's InfoScan Census product. Under the agreement,Walgreen will track its own sales and regulate inventory using IRI data. Theaddition of Walgreen's 2,000 stores boosts the number of retail outletscollecting sales data for IRI to 20,000. IRI had previously purchased data froma sample of Walgreens stores.
