HELSINKI--Irish discount airline Ryanair plans to double its ad spend in 2000 to more than $14 million. Most of the additional spend will be aimed at promoting Ryanair.com. The airline's lead agency is London-based Griffin Bacal, though much of its creative output is produced by its internal marketing unit.
The ad spend increase follows Ryanair's sponsorship deal with Sky News. The two-year agreement sponsoring Sky News'weather forecast programs is valued at $1 million and guarantees the airline 24 mentions per day.
