Top Executive of Automaker's SUV Division Steps Down

DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- American Isuzu Motors, Cerritos, Calif., is consolidating its U.S. business and is changing its name.

All operations will be consolidated under Isuzu Motors America

In addition, Duke Hale, who joined American Isuzu's sport utility vehicle division as senior vice president and chief operating officer in the fall 2000, "left the company to pursue other interests," the automaker said in a statement.

His successor is J. Terry Maloney, who had been the division's executive vice president.

No marketing positions were impacted.

General Motors Corp. owns 49% of Isuzu's unprofitable parent, Isuzu Motors Ltd.
