iVillage announced $21.5 million in new investments from original backers including America Online, the Tribune Co. and venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and new investors CIBC Wood Gundy Capital, Rho Management, Cox Interactive Media and General Electric Pension Trust. iVillage, creators of ParentSoup
, also said it has acquired Health ResponseAbility Systems and its Better Health & Medical Network, which is available on America Online. The online content provider has formed communities in four primary areas on the Web: health, parenting, work and lifestyle. Current advertisers including Ford Motor Co., IBM Corp., J C Penney, Procter & Gamble, Sony and Toys-R-Us.
