iVillage gets new investments

iVillage announced $21.5 million in new investments from original backers including America Online, the Tribune Co. and venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and new investors CIBC Wood Gundy Capital, Rho Management, Cox Interactive Media and General Electric Pension Trust. iVillage, creators of ParentSoup, also said it has acquired Health ResponseAbility Systems and its Better Health & Medical Network, which is available on America Online. The online content provider has formed communities in four primary areas on the Web: health, parenting, work and lifestyle. Current advertisers including Ford Motor Co., IBM Corp., J C Penney, Procter & Gamble, Sony and Toys-R-Us.
