IVillage goes public

Women's site iVillage, New York, went public Friday, March 19. Its initial public offering, which was priced at $24 a share, opened at $95.87 and closed at $80.12. Goldman Sachs was the lead underwriter on the IPO, in which 6.3 million shares traded hands. Competing women's site Women.com is expected to file for an IPO soon, say sources close to the company.
