iXL buys two more agencies

Atlanta-based interactive agency iXL announced Oct. 1 it has purchased Chicago-based interactive agency Two Way Communications. IXL also purchased software company Ionix Development Corp., Oak Brook, Ill. The combined businesses will be called iXL-Chicago and offer high tech, design and marketing services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Two Way, which was founded in 1996, has clients including CNA Insurance/CNA Re, online grocery service Peapod, and numerous healthcare clients. IXL also has recently opened offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Boston, among other cities.
