J&J sales up

Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, N.J., reported sales of $5.4 billion and net earnings of $750 million for the third quarter of 1996, increases of 14% and 20.4%, respectively, over last year. Worldwide consumer sales increased by 8.4%. Contributing to the growth, the company said, was Nicotrol nicotine patch, which won over-the-counter status last July. Other products cited as leading the growth were Tylenol, Neutrogena and Monistat 3.
