J&J transfers TV buying to McCann

Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, N.J., consolidated TV buying at McCann-Erickson Worldwide, New York, moving cable TV and syndicated TV from in-house agency Raritan Advertising. McCann already handled J&J's network TV. Spending was not disclosed, but Competitive Media Reporting said J&J spent $88 million in syndication and $68 million on cable in 1997.
