Japan's Softbank bids for Ziff-Davis

Softbank Corp., a Tokyo-based software distributor and computer magazine publisher, confirmed it is negotiating to buy Ziff-Davis from Forstmann Little, the New York-based investment company that purchased the publisher from the Ziff family last December. The estimated purchase price: $2.1 billion.
