[new york] Jonah Bloom has joined Advertising Age as executive editor. In that role, he will oversee day-to-day editorial operations, reporting to Editor Scott Donaton.

Mr. Bloom, 29, was most recently editor in chief at the U.S. edition of Haymarket Media's PRWeek, a title he helped launch as news editor in 1998. From July 1999 to August 2001, he served as founding editor of Haymarket's London-based Media Business, a weekly spin-off of U.K. advertising publication Campaign aimed at media sellers, planners and buyers.

"Jonah is an experienced, talented, aggressive news journalist who will be a great asset to our senior editorial management team," said Mr. Donaton. "His background gives him a depth of experience across a range of marketing and media disciplines that reflects where the businesses we cover are headed."

Mr. Bloom last year edited a HarperCollins book titled "Top Companies in Marketing & Media," and has written for a variety of publications, including The Guardian and Management Today in the U.K. He is a graduate of Oxford University.
