Still want to be like Mike? Michael Jordan's batting average reached the Mendoza Line on June 1 as he fell below .200 to .198. And during three games against the Memphis Chicks pitching, he went 0-for-3 with the media. The former NBA superstar shunned one scheduled press conference on Memorial Day and declined to give interviews after the next two. On May 30, Jordan made the press wait over an hour before sending word that he wasn't coming out. Jordan had fanned three times, including one that ended the game with the tying run on base, so His Airness said he didn't feel it appropriate to talk to the media after a game in which he had let his team down so badly. He didn't offer excuses for the other two nights.
