Those folks at Gatorade brand are very sneaky. In March, when Ad Age previewed the brand's 1994 advertising, we saw a new Michael Jordan spot in which the retired basketball star shows up a young street punk who believes he can take Mike now that he isn't in the NBA. Mr. Jordan proves him wrong, and that's it. The end. But when the spot broke last week, a new ending had been attached. In it, Mike asks his playground buddies if they're up for a game of baseball. An official comment couldn't be obtained, but before transferring our call to public relations, one Gatorade executive said: "We probably weren't sure what we wanted to do. Besides, if we told you, you'd blow the surprise."
