Jose Rodriguez, 32

Jose Rodriguez looked to take what he learned from a successful run at Procter & Gamble Co. to Novartis, where at only 32 he's VP-marketing, North America, for its over-the-counter drugs.

He made the jump from P&G brand manager in 2005 after helping Pampers grow 10%.

At Novartis, Mr. Rodriguez has taken a business that had been growing about 2% annually and pushed that growth to around 10%.

"He and his marketing team have reignited the Novartis brand portfolio," says Brian McNamara, a fellow P&G alum who's now Mr. Rodriguez's boss as the pharma's senior VP for OTC.
