, Duesseldorf, enlisted Ogilvy & Mather Europe as the business daily prepares for major expansion in Europe. O&M's main task will be to help the Journal
double its 70,600 circulation over the next five years. It will begin by exploring the perceptions of the newspaper by readers and non-readers before creating a substantial campaign later in the year. The appointment coincides with the announcement by Journal
parent Dow Jones & Co. of an alliance with German publishing company Holtzbrink Group, which includes Germany's largest business daily newspaper, Handelsblatt
. The alliance comes as The Financial Times
plans to launch a German edition.
