JOYRIDING DOLLS TAKE A TURN FOR THE WORSE

Published on .

Dolls out to enjoy the ride end up as road kill in a parody of TBWA Chiat/Day's celebrated "Toys" spot for Nissan. The commercial by DeVito/Verdi, New York, for Tri-State Acura Dealers shows the dolls tooling down a driveway in a toy car as the voice-over explains how the Acura Integra beat the Nissan 240SX in a study by Complete Car Care Guide. The adventure ends abruptly when a human-scale Integra crosses their path. The commercial is one of several new Acura ads tweaking rivals' claims.
