(June 25, 2001) -- According to a study by Jupiter Media Metrix, long, vertical, online skyscraper ads are surging in popularity.

At the end of February, Jupiter's AdRelevance skyscrapers accounted for 30 million impressions. More recent data shows that skyscraper ads account for 280 million, or approximately 2% of all online ad impressions. Yahoo! accounted for 39% of all skyscraper impressions; About.com, 18% and Switchboard.com, 3%. -- Catharine P. Taylor
