Jupiter: Web sites unprepared for set-top future

According to new research from Jupiter Communications, only 20% of electronic commerce sites on the Web are prepared to capitalize on the digital set-top box future. Jupiter, which projects 5 million digital set-top boxes in U.S. homes by 2002, advises Web ventures to structure revenue-sharing partnerships with cable operators as both broadband access via cable modem and interactive TV services. The research was released as part of Jupiter's Consumer Online Forum in New York beginning March 1.
