Justice Dept. gives tentative OK to Chancellor purchase

The U.S. Department of Justice gave tentative approval to Chancellor Media Corp.'s $39.5 million acquisition of Larkspur, Calif.-based out-of-home company Kunz & Co. after Chancellor agreed to sell off assets in three California counties and one in Arizona. Chancellor owns Martin MacFarlane, which sells out-of-home ads in several states including California and Arizona.
