JWT adds Quebec link

Published on .

J. Walter Thompson Canada, Toronto, has formed a strategic alliance with Montreal-based Groupaction Marketing. Founded in 1982, Groupaction has projected annual billings of $29 million; its client roster includes Cantel Cellular Service, Lassonde Juices and Marche Richelieu. John Clinton, president of JWT Canada, says the alliance gives JWT access to the Quebec market. JWT will not take a stake in the agency because agencies that are not 100% Canadian-owned are not eligible to handle government ad accounts.
