ISTANBUL--WPP Group's J. Walter Thompson Co. is acquiring a majority stake in its Turkish affiliate, Manajans Thompson, Istanbul. Previously the controlling stake belonged to Eli Aciman, chairman of Manajans Thompson. Mr. Aciman, who is one of the pioneers of Turkish advertising industry, in 1945 founded Faal Ajans, which later became Manajans.
Manajans Thompson General Manager Sumer Bileydi will continue his responsibilities after the acquisition. Mr. Aciman's future plans were not revealed.
