NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- WPP Group's J. Walter Thompson USA is considering phasing out its four-person Intuition department here.

A spokesman said the agency expects to find jobs within the shop for its staffers.

Intuition is the remains of JWT's 1977 spinoff of the same name, originally formed in New York to handle the $60 million Clairol brands account to avoid conflicts with its Unilever business.

Intuition lost the Clairol business in 1999.
