JWT creates global group for media

J. Walter Thompson Co. formed the JWT Global Media Group, a new committee comprised of media experts within JWT worldwide. The unit will manage JWT's media philosophy and coordinate practices throughout JWT's worldwide media network of more than 1,100 professionals in 95 media departments in 70 countries, overseeing billings of more than $6 billion. The unit is chaired by Ron De Pear, executive media director of JWT Europe, who retains his European and worldwide board responsibilities for the Media Partnership, an independent media buying operation in which JWT is a partner.
