JWT FORMS PARTNERSHIP WITH MINORITY SHOP ICON BLUE

(Aug. 27, 2001) -- JWT North America, part of WPP Group's J. Walter Thompson Co., today announced the creation of a strategic alliance with Icon Blue, a minority-owned promotional merchandise branding company.

Icon Blue operates offices in Los Angeles and Mountain View, Calif., and also in Detroit. The new Midwestern outpost is located within the JWT Detroit complex.

Under terms of the deal, Icon Blue becomes a preferred supplier to JWT North America. Icon Blue's client roster includes Comerica Bank, Motor City Casinos and Kelly Services. The agreement does not involve an equity investment by JWT North America in Icon Blue, a JWT spokesman said. -- Lisa Sanders
