JWT gets more Heinz pet foods

H.J. Heinz Co. consolidated its Heinz Pet Products advertising with J. Walter Thompson USA, Chicago. JWT will now be responsible for all dog food, cat food and pet treat brands, including those previously handled by Chicago agencies Leo Burnett Co. and Bayer Bess Vanderwarker. Heinz purchased Quaker Oats Co.'s U.S. pet food division in mid-March.

Western Pacific
Fox Broadcasting and Western Pacific Airlines today unveiled the airline's initial "flying billboard," a Boeing 737-300 jet painted bright yellow and featuring likenesses of the Simpsons, the cartoon family featured on Fox. Ed Beauvais, president-CEO of Western Pacific said: "We take safety and service very, very seriously. But we also think flying is fun. And what could be more fun than flying in a Simpsons airplane? American aviation and American television are important parts of our culture. That's why a joint promotion between Fox and Western Pacific is very appropriate."

Kids sets issue on Jordan
Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan is the subject of a first-ever special issue of Sports Illustrated For Kids. Sponsored solely by McDonald's Corp., it will be available in Chicago on Monday, and will roll out nationally during the following two weeks. The 72-page magazine, sold only at newsstands for $3.95, is titled, "MICHAEL!: The Story Of Michael Jordan From His Childhood To His Comeback."
