JWT's relationship marketing arm expands to Paris, Hamburg

LONDON--ThompsonConnect, J. Walter Thompson Co.'s global relationship marketing operation, is opening offices in Hamburg and Paris, bringing the total to 21 shops around the world.

The Hamburg agency already has 12 staff and clients include Deutsche Shell, Siemens and Marriott Rewards. In Paris, Thompson-Connect has been formed from the merger of two existing JWT companies, BFA and JWT Consumer. The new operation has 60 employees and clients include Mazda, Shell, Skybridge, TNT, Disney, Elida Gibbs, Jaguar and Kellogg.

The ThompsonConnect network work was formed in July 1998 to combine, under one branded name, 21 individual offices and affiliates that previously operated under JWT Direct, Dialog and Enterprise names. ThompsonConnect has 640 employees handling accounts with billings estimated at $250 million.

Michael Gram is CEO of the network, which offers service such as direct mail, direct response TV, database design, creative development, modeling and segmentation analysisand telemarketing.
