Kimberly-Clark Corp. pared its agency roster for consumer tissue products to three in a consolidation stemming from its merger with Scott Paper Co. J. Walter Thompson USA and sister WPP agency Oglivy & Mather, both New York, came away with new business. Former New York-based Scott agencies McCann-Erickson and Bozell Worldwide were dropped. Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago, retains the Kleenex facial tissue business in North America plus all advertising for facial tissue and household towel brands in Europe and Kleenex products in Australia and Latin America. Ogilvy & Mather, which has K-C's Huggies brand disposable diapers and wipes, picks up Kleenex Cottonelle bathroom tissue and Kleenex Viva and Kleenex Job Squad paper towels in North America, as well as all Kleenex brand products in Mexico, South Africa and the Asia/Pacific region. J. Walter Thompson Co., the only former Scott agency left on the roster, will handle all Scott consumer tissue products in North America, Mexico, Latin America and the Asia/Pacific region. McCann-Erickson formerly handled ScotTowels and Viva for Scott. Bozell handled Cottonelle, in addition to Scott's baby wipes business, which is to be sold under an agreement with the U.S. Justice Department.
