K-C makes exec, ad moves

Kimberly-Clark Corp., Irving, Texas, named Thomas J. Falk, 41, president-chief operating officer, filling a post that was vacant for five years and making him a front-runner to someday succeed Chairman-CEO Wayne Sanders, 52. Kimberly-Clark also said it will launch early next year a new "North Atlantic'' campaign in North America and Europe for Kleenex facial tissue, via J. Walter Thompson Co., New York. Mr. Falk had been group president-global tissue and paper, where he helped engineer the company's global management approach and recent turnaround in Europe. Also, Kathi P. Seifert, 50, who had been group president-global personal care, has been named corporate exec VP and the No. 3 executive at K-C. She keeps responsibility for global personal care. W. Dudley Lehman, 48, group president-infant and child care, also assumes overall corporate responsibility for consumer marketing support.
