David Kahn, 39, will be named publisher of Conde Nast Publications' The New Yorker
later today. He succeeds David Carey, also 39, who this week announced plans to become president-CEO of Gruner & Jahr's newly formed Business Information Group. Mr. Kahn was recruited by Mr. Carey last May as associate publisher of The New Yorker
. Previously he had been publisher of World Publciations' Saveur
