Kamp leaving 4A's

Published on .

John Kamp is leaving his post as senior VP at the American Association of Advertising Agencies in mid-June to set up a consulting practice on Internet and marketing issues. A former Federal Communications Commission director of congressional and public affairs, Mr. Kamp, 54, joined the Four A's in 1989 and in the past decade has worked on many advertising industry issues including, most recently, privacy issues on the Web. In a memo to the Four A's board and staff announcing Mr. Kamp's resignation today, Exec VP Hal Shoup said "whatever success the Washington office has enjoyed over the last decade can, to a significant extent, be attributed to John's skill, effectiveness and dedication.''
