Kemper Insurance Cos., Chicago, hired Cramer-Krasselt
to succeed Kemper Lesnick on the insurer's $10 million to $12 million account. Minneapolis shops Carmichael Lynch
and Martin/Williams were the other finalists in the review, handled by Jones Lundin Associates, Chicago. The agency switch is part of an increased focus on branding, which included the launch last year of a new corporate identity and a 10% to 20% increase in ad spending for 2000. The insurer launched the review in March after executives decided Kemper needed a full-service agency. Kemper Lesnick, initially hired to work mainly on sports marketing and public relations efforts, did not participate in the review.
