Ketchum buys two tech communication companies

Ketchum Public Relations Worldwide, New York, is acquiring two technology communications companies: Crescent Communications, Atlanta; and Thomas Associates, Redwood City, Calif. Thomas' clients include Sun Microsystems and Intuit while Crescent's clients include Scientific-Atlanta, Nokia, Barco and IBM Corp. Ketchum also is creating a Global Technology Practice system, which will link the company's high-tech experts from around the world. Susan Thomas, founder and president of Thomas, will head up that practice.
